On the medical marijuana scene, Pineapple Express is prized as an excellent daytime smoke. It is ideal for those who need pain relief, offering a sweet, smooth smoke and a long, mellow high. It also works well for those with depression or anxiety, because it has an energetic and upbeat effect which – despite its potency – allows you to focus on daily tasks.

The only disappointment might be that the pineapple flavour isn’t always as pronounced as the name would suggest, although the aroma is undoubtedly fruity and tropical. Often the pineapple appears as an aftertaste, with some phenotypes actually having a dank, earthy flavour; there are also notes of lemon, mango and pine.

Pineapple Express is a cross between Trainwreck and Hawaiian (probably Maui), and when grown well is has a thick resin coating on its light green buds.
